General Rules
The Beat Saber World Cup is a team tournament where players of the same country will compete against each other in 4v4 Best Of 7/9/11 matches.
All players will play on No Fail mode. Scores will be taken from the in-game scoring system.
The winner will be decided by which team has the highest combined total score.
All matches will take place on the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Subject to change in extenuating circumstances.) This is to ensure that all matches can be streamed.
Match scheduling will be decided by cooperation between the Team Captains as well as the Tournament Staff.
While any time is fine during the weekend, the ideal situation is for all matches in a specific weekend to take place as close to each other as possible.
- Once both teams agree on a time, they will get in contact with Amanatsu, Gregi or JiveOff at least 48 hours prior to their agreed upon match time.
- Once a match time has been agreed upon by both teams, the coordinator and the streamer, any changes must also be submitted 24 hours before the originally scheduled date and time.
- Rescheduled matches, again, need to be agreed upon by all parties.
The following mods/plugins are banned from use in the tournament. If you use one of them, your entire team will receive a map loss. You will then have to use a sub in their place, remove the mods/plugins, and then that player(s) can return to play the following song.
- Intro/Outro Skip
- Note Slice Visualizer
- Song Chart Visualizer
- Any mod/plugin that affects scoring ability
- Any mod/plugin that disables score submission
- Old Notes
- All chat mods should be removed or disabled prior to competing.
All games in the bracket stage must be streamed to our RTMP server. Information will be given out to qualified teams and players.
- Streams may not have obstructive overlays due to the stream sync technology that we're using. In the same vein, streams must all be in first person view
- We will not be allowing third person or avatar use
- A Camera2 config file will be given out to all qualified competitors to homogenize the viewing experience
If a map ends in a tie, the map will be replayed.
If a player disconnects or otherwise loses connection to the lobby, loses power, etc. the map will be played as normal and the player who disconnected will not have their score added to their team's total.
Maps can only be chosen once, either through ban or pick.
There will be a 15 minute grace period for players to arrive if their team has less than the required amount of players to play a match (4).
- If you have 4 players, you must begin the match regardless of who those players are (planned starters, subs, etc.)
- If you cannot field a team of at least 4 players before the 15 minute grace period has ended, your team will forfeit and receive a 0-3/4/5 loss.
- If a player disconnects, loses power, or any other event which causes the team to dip below the minimum required amount of players, an additional 10 minute grace period will be granted in order to allow the player to reconnect. If this happens too often, the match can be called at the discretion of the coordinator.
- Substituting players is allowed on a per-map basis. That is, players may be substituted freely between maps. If a map is replayed, players may be freely swapped on both teams.
- Penalities can be issued at the discretion of the coordinator for players or teams who cause consistent excessive delays.
- Teams will be allowed one warmup song each, not to exceed 5 minutes per song. If neither team wishes to participate in these warmups, or wants to skip them, they are free to. Warmups will take place before pick/ban phase.
- Each team will be allowed 1 total replay per match. The Team Captain will decide when to use it. Players may discuss these decisions with their Team Captains.
- Both teams will play to the best of their abilities during all matches.
- Unplanned situations which require additional rulings are subject to handling by the Tournament Staff and your Coordinator. Their rules are to be followed without question.
- If a decision is made to be final, there will be no arguing it. We will not overturn final rulings.
- All Tournament Staff, including but not limited to, Staff, Coordinators, Casters, Map Poolers, etc. are all to be treated with respect. These people are putting in their own time for your benefit.
Match Flow
- Matches will be using moon's Tournament Assistant plugin.
- All coordinators and players should connect to the match before or at their scheduled play time.
- Each Team Captain will link the coordinator the map their team has chosen as a warmup, and they will be played in order of higher seed, then the lower seed.
- As a reminder, the highest seed in the tournament is 1, and the lowest is 16.
- Neither team is required to play the warmup songs, and if both teams agree that no warmup will be played, they may proceed to the next step.
- Warmup maps must not violate Twitch TOS (Coordinator Discretion)
We will be using the "?roll d00" command in the discord channel to determine a die roll winner.
The winner of the die roll will choose to be either "Team 1" or "Team 2" in the diagram below. This will decide the ban and pick order.
Please refer to the below graph for ban and pick flow.
The above flow will be followed until a winner is decided.
In all instances, the Team Captain will roll the die and choose the bans/picks. If the Team Captain is unable to or does not want to do this, they may assign someone to do it for them.
For example, if the Team Captain is not able to, they may assign a specific player to decide bans and picks as well as roll the die. Team Captains may also ask their coordinator to roll for them if they cannot for any reason. Please just communicate with your coordinator.
After each map, the Coordinator will confirm the winners of each map and their total scores.
After the match has completed, the Coordinator will release the players from their lobby.
